Why just
watch cartoons when you can make one? Have you ever wanted to make your drawings
move? Learn about the traditional animation process while making simple drawings
come alive. Add effects and sounds to complete your mini-cartoon. Final cartoons
will be placed on Youtube to share with family and friends. 6 week class, reception

Looking
for a unique, high quality activity for you & your child? This class is designed
for children to attend with a participating adult. We will explore art through
watercolor, printmaking, painting, collage, sculpture & much more. Each class
session will have three or four engaging art & craft activities. 6 week class.
Home school students will create handmade maps that are geographically accurate as well as visually appealing. Each map will be a unique work of art. Students will also be introduced to the art and culture of the region we are mapping. The fall session will focus on the continent of Africa. We will create elaborate masks and other art inspired by this interesting area of the world. 6 week class, reception on 7th week. Cost:

Students
will be supported in developing characters and plot for a short story or chapter
book. Students will be able to choose from a wide variety of art materials for
their illustrations. (Acrylic, Watercolor, Pastels, Pen & Ink, Printmaking, Collage,
etc.) Each student will have his/her original book color-copied and bound. At
the conclusion of the class we will have a reception for the authors, complete
with book readings. 6 week class, reception on 7th week.
Create
bright, bold and beautiful paintings. Learn painting & color mixing techniques.
Use a variety of tools: brushes, palette knives, sponges, etc. for interesting
effects. Paint several full color paintings on quality artists' paper & one painting
on a large-sized canvas. 6 week classes, reception on 7th week.
Would
you like to learn to draw more realistically? This class will help you master
the basics. You will have the opportunity to draw from photos and from life. No
matter what subject matter you choose you will be able to practice techniques
that will greatly improve your drawing skill level. Learn to draw in 3-D, shading
techniques, proportion, perspective, and more. 6 week class., reception on 7th
week.
In
this class we will make stuffed creatures or puppets out of old socks and gloves!
We'll begin with simple patterns to turn them into something delightfully amusing.
Using buttons, pins, and a variety of hand stitchery our creatures will begin
to take shape. Once your sock & glove creature is complete learn how to make fabulous
clothing and costume changes. 6 week class, reception 7th week.
Find
an art buddy who is a different age from you and sign up together for this unique
class. Bring your child, mother, grandfather, nephew, aunt or neighbor, etc. and
discover the richness of a multi-generational art experience. We will each produce
our own unique and elaborately decorated paper mache mask. 3 week class.

If
you are passionate about exploring your art in depth, this class will provide
you with studio time and support. You will focus on a particular category of art,
chose your materials and produce several quality pieces. You'll write an artist's
statement and have the opportunity to show your work in Davis Studio or another
public venue. 6 week class. Students are encouraged to take more than one 6 week
session throughout the year.
