Teens' Summer Art Cam2012
Davis Studio is excited to offer
a variety of Teen Camps for summer 2012. These camps are
designed for students who want individualized attention
in unique and specialized areas of interest.
Teen camps will be held in the Davis Studio Gallery,
404 Pine Street, Burlington. Some camps will also have
off-site experiences (en Plein air, Advanced Drawing, Street
Art/Graffiti, etc.)
Features of our Teen Camps
The student/teacher ratio is low. (Typically no more than
8 - 10 students per camp.) When appropriate students will
visit artists studios or will have a visit from a guest
artist.
We are also offering a slightly longer day than our camp
programs for younger students. Camp hours are 9 a.m. - 4
p.m. If a student would like to stay for aftercare until
5:30 they may do so at no additional charge.
High quality materials will be provided for every student.
There is no additional materials fee as we are building
it into the cost of the camp. (Examples include a $50 fabric
and notions budget for Advanced Fashion Students, or an
artist quality watercolor set and brushes for Plein Air
Students which will be taken home at the conclusion of the
camp.)
Camp sizes are limited and most
fill quickly so register early. If for any reason a particular
camp does not fill, you will be notified and a full refund
will be given.
Is this your first time to register for a class or camp?
If you are registering
for the first time, please make sure you have filled out

Are you considering applying to an art or design college?
If so, creating a solid portfolio would be a huge
step in the right direction. A portfolio is a collection
of your best and most recent artwork that highlights
your art experience. Even if it will be a few years
before you apply to art school, getting an idea of
how to build a portfolio would be a huge advantage.
In this camp, you will not only discuss how to pull
a portfolio together and present it professionally,
but you will also be building your art skills by completing
several pieces of work. We will touch on related topics
such as composition, color theory and design. We’ll
practice observational drawing, painting, and mixed
media composition. You will receive individualized
instruction, encouragement and support. Spend one
week this summer taking your art to the next level.
