Spend Saturday mornings in our beautiful light filled studio, learning a new skill and creating a work of art. Most of our sampler classes are excellent introductory sessions for our three or six week adult and teen classes. Sign up for one sampler or do an entire series. Sign up with a friend for even more fun.

	Acrylic Painting for Beginners Saturday, January 14th Instructor: Lydia Littwin Location: Davis Studio Gallery, 404 Pine Street, Burlington Time: 10am - Noon Cost: $24.00 Play with paint, explore color mixing, and discover tools to use to create various effects. This is a perfect class for beginning painters, even those new to art of any kind. You will have the opportunity to complete a small painting on canvas. You can make either an abstract or representational painting.


	Painting with Tissue Date: Saturday, January 21st Instructor: Diana Cilenti Location: Davis Studio Gallery, 404 Pine Street, Burlington Time: 10am - Noon Cost: $24.00 Turn simple sheets of colored tissue paper and some acrylic gel medium into a beautifully layered "painting" on canvas. The transparency of the material allows for surprising and interesting effects.


	Intro to Oil Date: Saturday, January 28th Instructor: Lydia Littwin Location: Davis Studio Gallery, 404 Pine Street, Burlington Time: 10am - Noon Cost: $24.00 This class is ideal for anyone who wants to begin working in water-soluble oil paint. Learn the basic materials, techniques, and strategies for oil paintings. You will be guided step by step through creating your own small sized oil painting. All materials provided.


	Beautiful Batik Date: Saturday, February 4th Instructor: Jen Labie Location: Davis Studio Gallery, 404 Pine Street, Burlington Time: 10am - Noon Cost: $24.00 In this class, we will learn the fundamentals of batik and silk painting. Each student will design, batik and paint a silk piece. You will learn various techniques, such as blending, layering, and using salt & sugar.


	Block Printing - Valentines Cards Date: Saturday, February 11th Instructor: Lydia Littwin Location: Davis Studio Gallery, 404 Pine Street, Burlington Time: 10am - Noon Cost: $24.00 Add your personal touch to Valentine's Day by creating your own beautiful cards. You will create a block for printing that can be used again and again for anything from cards to gift tags, invitations, wrapping paper and more. In addition you will explore creative possibilities for embellishing your block printed items.


	Mini Mixed Media Date: Saturday, February 18th Instructor: Lydia Littwin Location: Davis Studio Gallery, 404 Pine Street, Burlington Time: 10am - Noon Cost: $24.00 Free your creativity! Enjoy an inspiring yet relaxing morning creating a small mixed media painting. Use decorative paper, newsprint, tissue paper, charcoal, and acrylic paints to create a playful, unique work of art.


	Mosaic Photo Frame Date: Saturday, February 25th Instructor: Charlotte Albers Location: Davis Studio Gallery, 404 Pine Street, Burlington Time: 10am - Noon Cost: $24.00 Learn how to create beautiful mosaic patterns and how to grout and set your masterpiece. Choose from our collection of glass and ceramic tile. This project would make a good gift, or enjoy it at home to set off one of your favorite photos.


	Felted Hats & Fascinators Date: Saturday, March 3rd Instructor: Wylie Garcia Location: Davis Studio Gallery, 404 Pine Street, Burlington Time: 10am - Noon Cost: $24.00 This sampler is full, if you would like to be on the mailing list, please email us. Pretend to be British Royalty for a day and learn to make a Fabulous Felted Fascinator. Learn how make dry felted floral accents as well as sew fabric flowers, and complete your millinery embellishments with beads, buttons, feathers and more. Learn tricks to make your fascinator positively fascinating. British accents welcome though not required.


	Fused Glass Date: Saturday, March 10th Instructor: Alyssa Oxley Location: Davis Studio Gallery, 404 Pine Street, Burlington Time: 10am - Noon Cost: $24.00 You will be surprised how simple it is to achieve amazing results working with glass we fire in a kiln. Using glass as our canvas, with a quick consideration of some basic elements of design, students will learn to cut sheets of glass and assemble a simple 8" x 8" glass project, either flat or slumped into a mold to form a bowl. ***Note: Project must be picked up after firing.


	Intro to Watercolor Date: Saturday, March 17th Instructor: Debbie Carland-Purdy Location: Davis Studio Gallery, 404 Pine Street, Burlington Time: 10am - Noon Cost: $24.00 Dip into this introductory class to learn what watercolor is about! We will take a playful and exploratory approach that is perfect for beginners. Learn the basics of materials and techniques to begin your watercolor adventure. All materials are provided so we only ask that you bring along your creativity and enthusiasm.


	Drawing for Beginners Date: Saturday, March 24th Instructor: Teresa Davis Location: Davis Studio Gallery, 404 Pine Street, Burlington Time: 10am - Noon Cost: $24.00 If you'd like to learn to draw, but you find yourself saying, "I can't even draw stick people," then join us for this playful and informative approach to drawing. This class is for the absolute and total beginner or those who have been previously traumatized in an art class." Come and join in on the fun.


	Terracotta Herb Planters Date: Saturday, March 31st Instructor: Jen Labie Location: Davis Studio Gallery, 404 Pine Street, Burlington Time: 10am - Noon Cost: $24.00 Create your own terra cotta planter for herbs or flowers. We will use slabs or thin sheets of clay to hand build our pieces. We will press herbs and stamps into our pieces to add textures and enhance our pieces. Each student will be able to make a custom designed planter while learning some hand building techniques during the process. ***Note: Pieces will be fired in a kiln and picked up at a later date.
