About Us
Davis Studio
was founded in 2003 by director, Teresa Davis. We are committed
to creating an atmosphere that fosters the imagination and
nurtures creativity. Each student is respected as an artist
with his or her own unique style and unlimited potential.
A wide range of classes and camps are offered for students
to explore artistic possibilities. We offer a selection
of after school and Saturday classes throughout the school
year. Additionally, classes are held during weekdays for
adults, homeschooled students and preschool families. Camps
take place during the summer as well as during school vacations,
including Thanksgiving and Christmas vacation and February
and April school breaks. We encourage you to join in on
the fun.

Teresa has worked for more than
twenty-five years with children from preschool to high
school, supporting creativity through both visual and
theater arts. She has several years experience as an
elementary classroom teacher and an art instructor.
Teresa was also a preschool director and teacher in
Santa Fe, New Mexico. She has traveled extensively and
spent a year teaching children in Amman, Jordan. |

Charlotte studied at Parsons
School of Design and holds certificates in Landscape
Design and Horticulture from the USDA Graduate School
in Washington, DC. She has over 15 years K-8 teaching
experience and has taught many adult classes in a variety
of settings. She owns Paintbox Garden, www.paintboxgarden.com,
a local garden design and consulting business and loves
to explore the art of the garden. |

M.C. has a Vermont K-12 Teaching license with an Art
Endorsement. Before becoming an art instructor she had
fifteen years of experience in the field of architecture.
She lived in Zimbabwe, Africa in the mid 80s and
in 2001 completed a tour of duty with the Peace Corps
in Papua New Guinea. In addition to her classes and
camps at Davis Studio she also teaches art to 1st
8th graders at Williston Central School.

Zoe has a B.F.A in Studio Arts.
She studied painting, ceramic sculpture, and photography
at Johnson State College and the Vermont Studio Center.
She is currently part of an artist's collective in
the South End where she has a painting studio. She
loves making art with other people and especially
enjoys the energy and enthusiasm that budding artists
bring to the creative process.

Kim Bombard is a Vermont artist
who has studied art at the University of Vermont and
with numerous New England artists. Kim has a background
in decorative painting and faux finishes on furniture
however her passion is for oil on canvas. Kim resides
in Burlington with her husband and three children
where she enjoys her beautiful surroundings which

As a certified art teacher Debbie's
experience includes teaching art to various age groups
from young children to adults. She has also taught
as a teaching assistant while attending graduate school
in the fine arts department at The Ohio State University,
as an art tutor at a ski academy, an art mentor at
Endicott College, and currently to local adults. Debbie
believes that creativity is something that is instilled
in all of us. As an art facilitator Debbie enjoys
helping each individual discover and release the artistic
ability within to enrich our lives.

Diana studied textile design
at Parsons School of Design and the Fashion Institute
of Technology and has been bringing European design
to the American market for over 20 years. Her love of
textiles has led her across the globe in search of fabrics
and the people who create them. She has also participated
in a variety of children's art programs from NYC to
Guinea West Africa. |

Jesse has been teaching kids for
the past 10 years, and making art of one kind or another
for as long as he can remember. He's taught in New
York and Boston, with a couple of years spent overseas
in Vienna, Austria. He graduated with a BFA in Photography
from Hartford Art School, but finds himself interested
in many more mediums than the one- which makes for
a crowded studio space. He's worked in hot glass fabrication,
sculpture, woodworking, photo and painting. His current
focus is clay and wheel-thrown forms; you can see

Wylie Sofia Garcia is a Burlington
artist who loves to make things with her hands! She
sews, knits, quilts, paints, draws and loves teaching
others. When she is not making art, she is dreaming

Jacquelyn Heloise designed her first fashion collection
in crayon at age 7, and painted her first landscape
in watercolor at summer camp at age 10
With a
love for all things designed and decorated, she now
works as an artist, illustrator and fashion designer
for clients in Burlington and beyond. Her background
includes a BA in Comparative Literature from Northwestern
and an AAS in Fashion Design from Parsons School of
Design plus NYC fashion industry experience as
a designer/illustrator. She believes that everyone is
an artist deep down; her greatest joy as
a teacher is helping others find inspiration through

Nicholas Heilig grew up in the rural,
yet artistic, community of Castleton, Vermont. Since
graduating from UVM with a B.A. in Studio Art, Nicholas
has made his living as an exhibiting artist, private
art instructor and freelance graphic designer. He
performs music & live stage art weekly, (with
DJ Kanga at the Halflounge Speakeasy), as well as
various other venues throughout the state of Vermont.
Heilig is strongly dedicated to the local community
and volunteers his time for several non profit organizations,
including: SEABA, The Roots Center, and WRUV 90.1

Jen Labie earned a B.A. in Studio
Art from the University of Vermont. Having studied
pottery, batik and majolica painting in Florence, Italy,
she continues to be inspired by Mediterranean designs.
Currently Jen runs Leaning Tree studio in Ferrisburgh
and also teaches batik and pottery. Her work consists
of functional, elegant tableware, signature wedding
platters, as well as custom painted tiles. You can view

Cheryl has enjoyed participating
in a wide variety of art projects throughout the years
with her own four children as well as with the first
through fourth graders at Williston Central School.
She has been sewing since high school and previously
owned Ellington Cody Ltd, making bedding, baby baskets
and custom nurseries. Cheryl brings her sewing expertise
and her creative crafting to Davis Studio for camps
and classes throughout the year. |

Carin Lilly is a world traveller,
artist and educator, based in Burlington, Vermont.
With a BFA in both painting and photography, she loves
working in all sorts of painting and photographic
media and hopes to never have to be forced to choose
between the two. She has 12+ years of teaching experience
in both public and private schools, as well as camps,
and adores working with artist-learners of all ages
from itsy bitsy children to a more mature adult. Her

Lydia academic inspiration comes
from an undergraduate degree in Social Psychology,
and a graduate degree in Art Education, which will
be completed July 2011. She has worked with children
preschool to high school, and feels passionately that
children deserve consistent opportunities for creative
self-expression. She is thankful for the experience
of working at the Davis Studio, where she can be an
artist by nature and young at heart!

Sue Mowrer Adamson is a freelance
artist living outside the box. She has a Master's in
art education and taught at Richmond Elementary as well
as at the Flynn and the Firehouse. Her motto is 'There
are no mistakes in art, only opportunities! |

Rose Norris is a professional actor
and teaching artist, licensed in K-12 drama. A recent
transplant from Boston, she is so happy to be at Davis
Studios! Rose has taught at a variety of companies,
schools, and non-profits in the Boston area, and performed
in many professional and fringe theaters. Rose holds
a degree in theater education and acting from Emerson
College.

Alyssa Oxley has been working
in kiln formed glass for almost 10 years. Shehas a B.S.
in studio art from Skidmore College. She has also worked
atKremer Glass Studio, Corning Museum of Glass Studio,
and the Pilchuck glassschool. Located in Vergennes,
Alyssa is continuing her own work in glassfocusing on
snow and ice formations. She encourages others to join
her inher habit-forming fascination with glass. Her
work was featured in theApril/May 2008 issue of Glass
Craftsman magazine. |

Claudia has always loved fabric
and combines print-making skills with sewing and clothing
design. Her designs appeal to women of all ages. She's
taken classes in all forms of fabric arts including
texile design at Philadelphia College of Textiles and
Science. Claudia still owns her grandmother's sewing
machine that she learned to sew on.

Micaela Wallace began her "glass
journey" working with stained glass over fifteen years
ago. Her love of glass inspired her to explore fused
glass as well, which she has been enthusiastically
doing now for the past six years. She has taken a
number of advanced fused glass classes from a variety
of places including the Studio at Corning Glass in
Corning, NY. In the Spring of 2011, Micaela's fused
glass work was juried into the Vermont Handcrafters'
Association. Her work includes fused glass plates,
platters, bowls, candle lights, sterling wire wrapped
jewelry and stained glass sun catchers. Micaela loves
working with students of all ages and she is very
excited about sharing her passion for glass.

Grace Weaver is a Burlington artist
who loves experimenting with painting, drawing, and
sculpture. She is completing her B.A. in Studio Art
at the University of Vermont and hopes is pursuing
a career as a professional painter. She loves to share
her excitement about art-making and art history with
